Paper cushion pads from ABS Packmittel offer more than just product protection. They guarantee your customers will recognize the superior value of your products, enhanced by the stylish design of the pads and individualized printed elements along with your company’s logo.

Cushion pads from ABS Packmittel, are made from certified raw materials produced exclusively from primary pulp* and are 100% safe for use in direct contact with foodstuffs (in compliance with food laws BfR and EEG). We do not use optical brighteners. 

Accompanied by the slogan “Sanftes für Süßes” – “Soft for Sweet” a production line for paper cushion pads was started in Langgöns, Germany by ABS Packmittel in November 1987. The high quality of the products and flexibility in implementing the specific requirements of customers led to rapid growth in the European market. By 1991 a further production line was put into operation to meet customer demands. To achieve complete independence, in 1996 the production facilities were expanded with the addition of a flexographic printing press. Within two years ABS Packmittel achieved a strong market position, enabling it to build a brand-new production hall in 1998 including modernization of all production and logistic systems. The company currently employs a workforce of twenty-five.

In 2007 the entreprise was taken over by Meyer/Stemmle, one of the leading packaging companies in Germany. The General Managers Karl H. Schilling and Hans J. Kerberger. have many years of experience in operating this company and the wealth of knowledge they have acquired serves them in the direct management of ABS. As Karl H. Schilling declares in his explanation of the company’s philosophy, “ABS Packmittel regards itself today no longer as just an operative production company, we also provide expert technical advisory services – for coordination, problem resolutions and enhancement of the quality of your packaging and packaging materials. We thus help to ensure the visual image of your products is as perfect as possible for your customers.”

Our customer portfolio includes: Nestle, Brandt, Bahlsen, Gubor, Leysieffer, Niederegger, Confiserie Heilemann, Sarotti Barry Callebaut, Pierre Marcolini, Anton Berg, Cloetta Fazer (International), Rausch Schokolade.

ABS Packmittel is, as of February 2009, certified under the BRC/IoP Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials. This certification assures the high quality and commendable hygienic management of our paper cushion and paper roll production.

BRC/IoP and its applicable regulation standards have recently been made even harder to attain, placing a much stronger emphasis on our production quality. BRC/IoP is the pre-eminent name in food packaging, with an excellent worldwide reputation.

With the BRC / IoP global standard certificate for packaging and packaging materials, ABS Packmittel is able to demonstrate an efficient and high quality production process.
